It was one year ago today that My Christopher and I took the plunge into holy matrimony.

One year ago today I became the happiest I’ve ever been in my entire lifetime.

One year ago today I not only acquired a new husband, but a new and wonderful stepfather for my boys.

One year ago today I also acquired a beautiful and FUN teenage stepdaughter.

One year ago today at a little concert north of Indy with a few friends and a multitude of strangers.

.  .  .  yes it was ~

The following photo is of my friend Wendy.  I took photos for her at her baby shower this past weekend.  I think I took close to 200 photos and only deleted about 20 of them due to eyes being closed or straps being exposed.  She is about the most photogenic person I’ve ever met in my life.

At seven months into her pregnancy that is definitely saying something.

My little artist spent some time painting these pictures for me a couple weeks ago.  The one on the left is of him giving me a valentine.  It’s almost as big as he is because he says that’s how much he loves me.

Ever since Cade has been old enough to have a need for a haircut he has always had women cut his hair.

Once when he was very young and at the time we were building our house I tried taking him to a male barber in our new town. This man was in his 70′s and had actually been my Dad’s barber when he was a very young boy.

Cade would have no part of that.

He wouldn’t even get into the barber chair.

This photo is of Cade getting his hair cut by Jessica. He just loves her. Our entire family goes to her and have been for the past 3 years.

I think he just may be a very young ladies man. Out to capture the hearts of unsuspecting women.

Just like his big brother.

This photo of Jon was taken last summer.
Jon is one of Cory’s best friends.  His parents abandoned him and he now lives with his soccer coach.
. . .and sometimes he stays with us.
He’s a great kid.  He’s very intelligent and has been on the high school decathlon team for the past 3 years.
He graduates this year and has plans to join the military and to continue his education through them.
We wish him great success and happiness.

This sweet little guy is my uncle’s grandson. We saw him this past Thanksgiving and that is when I took this photo. I think he is adorable. Those eyes are to die for, aren’t they just huge?

Recently he was hospitalized because he just isn’t gaining weight so his doctor was growing concerned that he was becoming malnourished.

They admitted him, ran some tests and determined there really isn’t anything wrong with him.

He’s just a runt.

Don’t you just love runts?

I just love the lights at Metropolis.  The movie theater that I took Cade to this week to see Hotel For Dogs sits behind the mall.  I took this photo right after walking out of the theater.  During the summer months they have water play areas down the long drive you see here all lit up.

Okay so I went to the winery yesterday to replenish my wine stock and didn’t think to take my camera with.
Who would have thought the waterfall would still be running? I seriously thought they would have drained the pond for winter, but I guess they don’t. Therefore I took this with my cell phone.
Yes, it’s completely frozen over. All except a tiny trickle you can hear running behind the big icicles. I thought it was very neat nonethless.

Not so much when they’re with Aunt Kim.

They both turn into girly girls then.

We do nail polish, makeup, hair. . . .the works.

. . . .and because I have a tattoo of a daisy on the top of my foot.

so must they.

These are my parents.

This photo was taken at their wedding reception in 1967.

They started dating when my Mom was a mere 14 years old.

Here, she is 17 years old.

My Dad had just enlisted in the USAF to avoid being drafted and not having a choice as to what branch of the military he would join. . . . . . . . . . .because:

He was going to Vietnam.

They were already engaged, but just did not want to wait till he returned (if he returned) to be married.

He returned.

Of this I am thankful.

So I could be more than just that little twinkle in his eye.
