I’ve been out again taking photos of the changing leaves. You can almost see the change by the minute. It’s also been very breezy so a lot of the leaves are falling from the trees and making a big mess in the yard. Of course the dogs love it. They spend their time romping around in the leaves and then there’s Hunni, for some reason she loves chewing twigs. She chooses twigs over dog treats always. Not unlike Tucker though, of course his are much larger, more like the size of a small log.



I just had to add this one, she’s really the only one of the dogs that stands still long enough to pose for a photo. Abby is absolutely too hyper, and as soon as you say Phoebe’s name she is at your feet lying on her back for you to pat her tummy and of course Tucker who is almost always in the woods.

This afternoon I decided I should try to get out and get some photos of the changing leaves before it’s too late to chronicle this event. I love this time of year, things around here change so drastically and my does it happen quickly. It just seems that yesterday everything was green, albeit very dry which is a vast difference from only a few months ago when we were waiting for days and days for the flood waters to dissipate.

Of course my nosy doggies couldn’t be left home, they would have only barked and carried on to the point of awakening poor Chris who mind you was only going to sleep a few short hours before heading back in to work early for a class. So off we went into the forest for a hike.

Our driveway. Leaves change here first, I’m sure because they get more sunlight. This morning this was a war zone as walnuts were falling out of the trees aiming at our heads on the way up to the bus.

Tucker in his domain. He spends most of the day out in the forest barking at who knows what.

I saw him with his paws on this tree, standing on his hind legs barking at something. Sure wasn’t moving leaves as this tree is dead.

This is the floor to an old cabin that’s been gone for a very long time. I’m sure it was from sometime in the early 1900′s at least because some of the trees right up next to it are at least that old.

Wait for us Tucker, we I only have 2 legs and am quite a bit slower.

No way Hunni is going down the ravine. She’s much too fat curvaceous to make it back up.

Okay, maybe she’ll try it after all. “You’ll get yourself back up here, no way I’m dragging your butt sweet hiney back up”.

This is why Tucker barks, someone has decided to clear out some trees in order to build. Hmmm new neighbors.

There she goes again. This one’s even steeper than the last one.

Teeheehee, she’s trying to remember how she got down there in the first place.

Abby found something up in a tree.

Not too many flowers left.

I love these trees. They have character.

She made it all by herself. I’m very proud. She’s acting more like a “country dog” every day

Last night Chris, Cade & I went to the annual Fall Foliage Festival in Martinsville. Cade is one of those kids that loves to ride all the carnival rides, well most anyway. He won’t go on anything that goes upside-down he says. I’m not quite understanding why he won’t ride these when he’ll ride anything they’ll let him on at Kings Island. Also, he makes an adult ride with him on everything, even the ferris wheel. So Chris who also loves riding all the rides goes with him on everything and lucky me gets to sit out and enjoy taking photos. Except that I also ride on the ferris wheel since we can all ride in the same car and I can take really good photos from the top.



This is our county court house and it’s a very old building. I love old buildings.
