It’s July.

It’s the five year anniversary of the month in which I started dating My Christopher.

It’s also our third anniversary month.

Though not quite the end of the month (the 29th is our actual anniversary, sort of) this week we had some time off together for a little getaway.

Originally I had planned on traveling to Portland, Oregon for a week of girl time with one of my besties.

Her son was signed up to attend a sports camp but after an injury that required surgery, camp was out of the question.

I’ve always wanted to stay in a Bed & Breakfast so I literally jumped on this opportunity to spend a few quiet days alone with my honey.

Now I have a new love:

The man who built this wonderful home also built another much like this in another part of this teeny tiny town.  He also built two smaller homes that also included the horseshoe shaped window like the one you see here.  The window was actually one in our room.  I loved it.

The owner did a wonderful job restoring this place.  It’s simply fabulous.

I would love to hire her groundskeeper and take him back home with me.  He does a fantastic job keeping this place looking so pretty.

This tub took My Christopher by surprise.  I don’t think he was sure what to do without a shower.  Being a girly girl this was right up my alley.

The sink was so pretty I almost didn’t want to use it.  My fear of all things smelly, dirty and germy kicked in though and that quickly flew out the window.

There were always drinks and snacks readily available.

If you’re a tea drinker or love chocolates this table is for you.

And for you cookie lovers.

Our first breakfast, which mind you comes in courses as if it were a fancy dinner.

The tile on this fireplace is still the original tile from when the home was built in the 1890’s.

The parlor.  There were books on the history of the area lying around for us to look at.  I love reading those kinds of books.

She loves to cook and what a wonderful cook she was.  This Italian omelette was YUMMY!

I love the antique furniture.

Of course I also LOVED all the photographs of the historical people from the area.

The kitchen has a tin roof which was common for the era.

I also managed a peek around the corner into the kitchen.  I would so love a stove like that for my kitchen!

I can honestly say that I now prefer a Bed & Breakfast to a hotel for any trip I plan in the future.

Last weekend one of our DMC turned 41.

So we had a little celebration.

.  .  .  .  first ~ dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise.

followed by a few adult beverages at Jake’s Pub.

Then downtown to the Cadillac Ranch.

For drinks.

Goofy faces apparently.

.  .  . and some bull riding.

A good time indeed.

Happy Birthday Mikey.  We love ya.

The images in the above collage are from our family vacation to the East Coast last summer.

It was an extremely wet trip, raining every day except for one.

The one and only day I was able to get any senior pictures of our 2 seniors – in Central Park.

Really I just wanted to play with my collages today because I’m kind of bored.

My honey is sleeping the day away because he’s working this weekend, child number 2 is with his male parental unit and child number 1 just took off in my jeep to pick up his clothes at a friends house and then to work.  Unfortunately he suffers from his Mother’s luck when it comes to his vehicles.

I’ve been hanging in the loft with my girls playing with collages and at times standing on guard with fly-swatter in hand ready to destroy 3 wasps that keep threatening to swoop down and attack my baby Zoey.  Can I just say I hate wasps and they need to leave my poor innocent puppy alone.  She doesn’t know that wasps taste nasty and besides I think she really only wants to play.  You know kind of like kitty’s play with mice before they eat them.  Yes, she gets confused sometimes and thinks she’s a cat.  I haven’t the foggiest where she gets that idea.  We don’t have cats, I’m severely allergic to them.  She bats toys around with her hands (front paws), pounces on her sisters and scratches at the furniture.  You know now that I think about it, I think she may have a personality disorder.  Yes that’s it, she has 2 personalities; a cat personality and she must have a dog personality because I never knew any cat that liked to get into the shower before and not only that but her Mama was a dog after all.  I still believe though that she’s the sweetest thing on Earth and the most cuddly snuggle bug that ever shared a pillow with me before.  So, I’ll keep her – personality disorder and all.

BAM!!!.  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  2 down and 1 to go.  Take that you wiley beasts.

I think my Honey needs to call the wasp exterminator.

You know before my girls get hurt or I get stung trying to protect my doggy family and go into anaphylactic shock

On Sunday December 27th My Christopher took Cade to his first ever Colts Game.

Not so sure where they are here, but I thought it was pretty cool.

Here are the crazy two in their seats.

GO COLTS!!!  I know it’s a little late now.  You know, seeings how they threw the game and all.

. . .and of course no game is complete without a photo of those yelling ballerinas.

(at least that’s what Cade used to call them, you know back when he was a little guy)

This year Christmas started extremely early (at least for us) in the morning.

Britt had to be at work all the way in Anderson early so we started our day at 5:30am.

Britt is a bit dramatic and wiggles around quickly.  This is the only photo that wasn’t a complete blur.

Here is my very tall Christmas tree.  I know there isn’t a topper, but the ladder isn’t tall enough to allow for someone to reach high enough.

I’m not sure how ‘awake’ Cory was at this time.  He went right back to bed afterwards.

Cade on the other hand is excitable no matter the time of day.

Christopher was very happy to have his iPod replaced.  Of course I had a mushy card and even more mushiness engraved on the back of it.

Yes, I got a wii fit and Cade is probably more happy about it than me.  Please forgive our sleep attire, or at least Cade’s.  He chooses to always wear my old t-shirts.

On Sunday December 20th My Christopher, Cade and I took a ride on the Polar Express.

This train ride takes place in Connersville.

After boarding the train the train personnel pass out hot chocolate and cookies to all passengers.

Then on to the North Pole.

The story is told and heard throughout the cars by speaker.

There are elves, cooks, hobos, basically every character from the story.

There is even a conductor that punches the kids tickets.

Upon arrival at the North Pole Santa boards the train and rides back with us.

During the trip back he sits with each child and presents him or her with a bell which they ring if they BELIEVE.

My Christopher loves cookies as much, if not more than any child I know.

While shopping a few weeks ago he found a set of cookie cutters that he really wanted.

You know that look your kids give you with their eyes?  That pleading look that pulls at your heart strings?

Yeah ~ so I caved.

So they made their Christmas cookies tonight.

Today I have a list
I think I may start to live by my list.
I have such a busy life that I can’t keep my daily events straight.
Today for instance, at the top of my list is:
Drive to Starbucks
I actually have a need and not just a want for Starbucks today.
You see, my internet service sucks.
I mean it really sucks. I’ve not had internet in two days.
I have an internet based business so this is really begininning to get on my nerves.
I have to drive into town to use the service at Starbucks.
This also means I must purchase something while I’m there.
I am seriously contemplating sending my Starbucks bill to IBEC to make them pay for it.
I mean I am paying full price for a service in which they are unable to render at this time.
I’m actually typing this post out at home as a wordpad document which I will copy and paste into my blog service.
I figured if I have a 2 hour limit while I’m there I’d better get some of this done.

We’re finally over the pig flu at my house, it only made it’s way through 2 of us luckily.
Hubby never got it and neither did my oldest offspring.
My youngest though had it bad. Really bad.
His fever lasted for 6 days.
All we have left now is that very annoying cough that seems to last forever and ever.
Cade’s cough is almost over thank goodness. Though the cough medicine with codeine he was on was nice at helping him rest, it was such a chore to get it down him. He didn’t like the syringe they gave us to measure with because it didn’t allow it to go in fast enough. He likes to take it quickly then have a little drink of water to get the taste out of his mouth.
So this Mama gave it to him in a shot glass.
There’s nothing like teaching your 8 year old how to take a shot.
Does that make me a horrible mother?
I think not, I do whatever I need to in order to get the meds in.
And besides, he doesn’t even know what a shot glass is for.

Boo ~ soccer season is over and honestly it was merely a nuisance this year. I mean we made it to maybe half the games due to either sickness or bad weather.
I did however get some photos to share:

Don’t ask me why the boys tongue hangs out all the time.  It helps him to concentrate.  That’s what he says.

I say it helps him to catch bugs.

Notice if you will his lack of fashion sense.  His brother would be very disappointed in this.  I do notice that he is wearing a green t-shirt over a burgundy sweatshirt, navy shorts (he has black ones but won’t wear them), black socks and lo and behold his shoes match his socks, well kind of, his socks are black and white and the cleats are black with a red swoosh.  We were close on that one.  Seriously this is the ensemble he chose to wear.  The boy is stubborn.

PS, I think he chose the burgundy sweatshirt because it says Harvard on the front and he thought it would make him smarter during the game.

What a crazy week.

We started off with Cory having a fever Sunday night.

Upon waking Monday morning though, his fever was gone, but he did have a cough.

We are Dayquil/Nyquil users here and I didn’t have any other cough medicine around so that’s what I gave him.

He wanted to try making it through Statistics class at least, that and he needed to return his Mac to Rewind so we took him in a little late.

Ten minutes later the clinic at his school called to say he had a temp of 99 degrees and I need to come get him.

She accused me of giving him something to mask his fever so he could come to school.

I was slightly offended to say the least.

Number 1 ~ I checked his temperature and it was normal.

Number 2 ~ Tylenol doesn’t even touch his fever, ever.  I’ve known him his whole life and let me just say that ibuprofen is the only thing that works.

He didn’t have the normal flu symptoms thank goodness, and I believe he had a sinus infection.  So a course of antibiotics fixed him right up.

Myself on the other hand had every symptom possible, cough, sore throat, muscle aches, headache, fever, and fatigue.  Plus since I also have asthma I also had the wheezing and low oxygen saturation levels.  I seriously spent almost an entire day hovering around 90 percent.

This sickness lasted for 3 whole days.  YUCK!!!

I really did my best at trying to keep my germs away from everyone, but poor Cade has now come down with this yucky sickness.

The photo below was taken before he got sick, I had him scoop his own cookie dough in hopes of keeping them germ free.

Kudos to my wonderful hubby whom did his best at nursing me back to health.  Luckily he hasn’t gotten sick.

Today was the last day for our local Fall Foliage Festival.

This is an event that we always try to make it to every year.

Cade loves the rides.

Chris loves the elephant ears.

.  .  .  .  .and I love the cotton candy, and the pineapple whip ice cream.

It’s really the only reason to go.

well.  .  .  .that and the really cool items for sale by different vendors in the area.

This year the knitted hats were quite popular.  I saw so many teenage girls sporting these hats.

I was freezing and so were my ears so I got one too.

They also had the neatest little knit sweater/jackets with pointy hoods.

You know, like the very cool knit hats that you see babies get their photos taken in.

I just had to have one of those too.

Not for me of course.

They were much too small.

I do know a very cute baby whose mommy loves hats that would look uber cute in this little contraption.

The weather is perfect for such a thing.

I got a new point an shoot camera so I don’t have to lug around my big clunky camera everywhere for good photos.

I was so ready to part with my Nikon Coolpix.  I was very happy to sell mine to my friend Michele whose very same

camera got broken yesterday.

I’m definitely a Canon girl.

I never want another Nikon as long as I live.

Danny-o met us at the festival.

I think he misses home.

Cade and I shared this huge bag of cotton candy while riding the gigantic ferris wheel.

Now for a little sad news:

My Christopher’s ex-wife (aka Britt’s Mama) was just diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
