Dogs are funny.  The extreme differences in their personalities is quite amusing and sometimes annoying though.  For example:

This is our Tucker and he is afraid of the school bus.  He runs circles around us as we’re trying to get up the driveway, then when he hears the bus coming really close he’ll jump back into the woods and watch from behind the trees.  He runs through the woods up to where the road curves and jumps out into the road, stands there forgetting that she turns around and comes back.  She then has to stop for him to get out of the road.   I know she thinks he’s insane but she just shakes her head at him and drives on.
Abby on the other hand absolutely loves the

school bus.   If I don’t leave her in the house when
it’s time for Cade to get on or off the bus she will
jump on and run to the back visiting every child
on the way.   Then she’ll dart to the front and jump on the lap of the bus driver.   This has occurred on more than one occasion and you should see what she does to the UPS truck.

Phoebe though is self-absorbed and doesn’t care about much.
Hunni is our princess ’nuff said.

Okay, the storms have got to stop.   I don’t mind the little ones with a little rumble   now and again and a light rain, but these monsoons we have been having with gusting winds (2 in 24 hours).   I mean winds up to 70mph are just ridiculous according to my standards.   Of course my standards may be a little biased, I don’t think we should ever have anything blowing near my house over 30mph.   These are things you must worry about living in the forestry.
This is the third tree we’ve lost in storms since living  here.   It’s getting a little unsettling because the trees that are falling all around us just keep getting closer and closer. There’s one in my front yard that’s not even 20 feet from the house that is slowing dying from the inside so eventually it will either fall over or we will have to cut it down.   They are so unpredictable, some of them last years standing tall with no new growth or greenery not even beginning to lean one way or another then all of a sudden you have a big gust and down she goes without a warning.   Now mind you this tree is 50 feet tall and is not leaning in any direction at the moment, so who knows where she’ll end up.   (All my trees are girls unless they have nuts growing on them, those are boys)



If you notice in the second photo Tucker and Abby are checking out our most recent victim.   The storm that murdered this innocent tree was so fierce that Tucker was hiding out in the woods (obviously not the safest place to be).   I stood on the front porch calling out for him, because the front porch is his home and it’s covered so he’s safe there.   All of a sudden I see his head pop out from behind the murdered tree and the minute he heard me calling his name he dashed straight in through the front door.   The funny part about that is that Tucker is strictly an outside dog.   He’s only been inside 2 other times mainly because he’s usually very timid.   He was an abandoned puppy that showed up at my parents and was seriously in need of food and social skills.   He’s slowly getting more comfortable with people so it struck a funny note with me that he did not even hesitate to bolt right inside.

Up until this past Monday we have left the training wheels on Cade’s bike.   Learning to ride your bike in the country is a bit more treacherous than in the city as you don’t have smooth surfaces in which to learn on.   I guess I didn’t realize that training wheels actually make it harder to ride in gravel or on our very lumpy yard.   Riding became much easier with the training wheels gone as he can actually maneuver corners and curves.   I’m sorry to say that I’m a bit overprotective when it comes to having my baby’s knees and legs cut up by the very sharp and pointy stones that we call gravel in our driveway.

Yay – it’s Spring, it’s finally Spring. Cade has begun baseball already and Cory is conditioning for soccer. We finally got a car for Brittneigh & we’ve added a new family member. His name is Tucker and he’s just the cutest thing ever. He actually showed up one day at my parent’s house and we took him home with us because I’ve been wanting an outside dog. So voila – here he is!

The next picture is of Abby. Chris and Cory were making fun of her redneck teeth. This dog will let you do anything to her.

That’s about all that’s happening at the moment.

I’ve been at this job for nearly fourteen years and continue to love it just as much as I did when I first started. I love photography, reading, scrapbooking and spending as much time as possible with my wonderful family. Married my wonderful husband Christopher in July of 2008, two years and one month after meeting him at the hospital in which we were both working

*Christopher* Wonderful husband to Kimber (keeper of the blog). Dad to Britt. Stepdad to Cory and Cade. He’s also a Respiratory Therapist, but he chooses instead to work in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit where he takes care of children aged 0-18. He also loves his job and enjoys taking care of sick children. He’s been at his job for nearly thirteen years and he also continues to love it as much as when he first started. He and I first met when he came to work at the same hospital as I, though has since moved on to a much busier hospital. He can’t stand to sit still and chooses to be busy much of the time (can you say ADHD?) He’s originally from California where most of his family remains and has now been in Indiana a little over six years. He loves football and Jimmy Buffett, hence the reason for our wedding at the Jimmy Buffett concert in July of 2008 where his very best friend in the whole world, Dan performed our marriage ceremony in front of about 20 friends and thousands of strangers.

*Cory* Son to Kimber (keeper of the blog). Stepson to Christopher. Brother to Cade. Stepbrother to Britt. He’s a seventeen year old model at Hollister where he’s been working for five or six months. He plays soccer at his high school where he is also a member of Rewind, the broadcasting program he was accepted into this year. Rewind also has their own television station where the Rewind members take turns being publicly broadcast on Fridays of each week. Next school year he plans to study abroad in Germany as a foreign exchange student for the first trimester of his senior year. His Rewind instructor has given him quite a prestigious assignment in that he must film a documentary of his time there and forward said documentary to his instructor biweekly to be broadcast throughout the school. He plans to continue his education at Full Sail University in Florida upon graduation from high school.

*Brittneigh* (Britt) Daughter to Christopher. Stepdaughter to Kimber (keeper of the blog). Stepsister to Cory and Cade. She’s a seventeen year old waitress at Waffle House near her hometown of Anderson, Indiana. She lives with her Mom in Anderson and attends high school there. She’s quite the social butterfly and loves to travel. One of her favorite places is Chicago, after spending some time in the “Windy City” with Kimber (keeper of the blog) early in 2008 for her sixteenth birthday. A junior in high school she plans to study at a local college and become a psychotherapist or a dentist.

*Cade* Son of Kimber (keeper of the blog). Stepson to Christopher. Brother to Cory. Stepbrother to Britt. He’s a very sweet seven year old who always tries to please those around him. He loves video games and playing on the computer. He also loves all kinds of sports and plays both baseball and soccer. He would very much love to play golf also when he’s a little older. His Grandpa has had him hitting golf balls since he could walk and he’s actually quite good at it as he is most any sport he tries. His favorite TV shows are Spongebob, iCarly and Drake & Josh.


*Abby* (Abbydog) first came to live with Kimber (keeper of the blog) and the family in September 2003 when she was four months old. Her previous owners decided they couldn’t handle the mama, papa and 2 puppies all living in the house so they decided not to keep Abby. In September of that year our previous dog Daisy died of old age and Kimber (keeper of the blog) was quite devastated. After researching and deciding a Boston Terrier would be the perfect doggy to add to the family Abby came to live with her.

*Phoebe* came to live with Kimber (keeper of the blog) and the family in April of 2005 when she was only 8 weeks old. She was just the cutest little puppy ever and quickly won over everyone’s heart. Cory’s most of all. He plans to take her away with him to college. Though she was supposed to be a Miniature Dachshund she outgrew the miniature title and has thus become a “Standard”.


*Tucker* came to live with Kimber (keeper of the blog) and the family in the spring of 2008. He was a stray that showed up at the home of the Grandparents. Since there was no “outside” doggy living in the “Kimber” household he was just the perfect choice. A Treeing Walker Coonhound definitely likes to send things up the tree and he seems to always bring presents to the front porch.

*Hunni* (Princess) came to live with Kimber (keeper of the blog) and the family in spring of 2008 as well. She spent all of her life up until that point living in Anderson with Brittneigh and her Mom. Though coming to visit frequently with Brittneigh during visitation times with Christopher she didn’t make the “Kimber” home her permanent residence until Brittneigh and her Mom moved into an apartment that just wasn’t working out as a good home for the Princess. She’s a wonderful little Pug and is just the sweetest little lover dog.
