Okay so today was one of those days.
You know, the days us night shift workers have a lot of.
The days where you can’t sleep.
At least this night shift worker anyway.
After working last night I went home to catch a 1 hour nap before my sons basketball game.
Then afterwards I set my alarm for 4 hours later.
. . .approximately 3 hours into my slumber.
I awakened.
I tried my hardest to fall back asleep.
Really I did.
My mind though had other ideas.
My mind always has other ideas.
That’s why I usually take a little sleep aid on Saturdays.
So anyhow, my mind began wandering.
I thought then of the Lykke Li music I’d downloaded yesterday.
I mean how do you even pronounce that?
So far I’ve come up with a version that resembles something you might hear on a low budget porn film.
No, that just won’t do.
I mean what if my 8 year old asks me who I’m listening to?
I’m sure that would get a giggle out of him only because it sounds funny.
Then he’ll go to school and repeat it.
