Wordful Wednesday – Jon

This photo of Jon was taken last summer.

Jon is one of Cory’s best friends.Â His parents abandoned him and he now lives with his soccer coach.

. . .and sometimes he stays with us.

He’s a great kid.Â He’s very intelligent and has been on the high school decathlon team for the past 3 years.

He graduates this year and has plans to join the military and to continue his education through them.

We wish him great success and happiness.

I honestly don’t understand parents like that. I hope he has a bright future ahead of him.

I know some 17 year old twin boys that have a mom like that. A few years ago they lived with me for awhile (when I was still married – not a single mom) and then their mom took them back. Right now they’re living with my pastor and trying to finish highschool because their mom decided to move in the middle of their senior year. I just don’t understand some people. And these boys are sweethearts too. So sad.

What a good looking kid but that’s awful his parents abandoned him. How old was he when they left? That breaks my heart.
