stick-tights (desmodium cuspidatum)
Stick-tights (Desmodium cuspidatum) attach to socks like flat ticks.
One of the joys of living in the woods are all the not so wonderful things that end up in our laundry. Ticks, burs, thorns and stick-tights are just a few.
This photo was right after he came running to me asking me what all these bugs were sticking to his clothes.
After I explained to him that these are not bugs but only stick-tights and that they don’t hurt to pull them off he decided to try and see for himself.
I don’t think he completely believed that they aren’t bugs and had to check and see that it didn’t move.
He pulled off every single one.
I just love how boys are so curious about every little thing.
