Eye Surgery!!!
Well, we actually did it. Chris and I both had Lasik done on Monday. We arrived at 10:30am as scheduled, both had 5mg of Valium and sat and waited for what seemed like an eternity, I’m sure it had nothing to do with our nerves at all. Anyhow after doing a couple tests on us to be sure nothing had changed it was finally our turn. Guess what??? They called Chris’ name first, how stinking funny is that? He was determined I would go first. I moved up to the first row of chairs so I could watch, which probably wasn’t my brightest idea. I could actually see his huge blue eye up on the monitor then they squirted a huge amount of numbing drops in his eye, then what I call the cornea slicer ran across his eye, at this point I’m holding my breath and I swear I was seeing stars and about passed out. Thankfully one of the other doctor’s called me back to another room to explain how the procedure goes. Lo and behold, it was then my turn and you know what it wasn’t so bad after all. We were done and out of there in an hour’s time. The trip home was quite humorous, I was giddy as usual after taking sedatives and now I understand why Chris refuses to take any mind altering drugs, he literally passed out with his funny looking sunglasses on and his mouth hanging open as if he were catching flies. I kept poking and prodding him trying to get him to talk to me, but he wouldn’t budge. My Dad scolded me for messing with him. The journey home went by rather quickly after I fell asleep too. By that evening though we were both up, still wearing sunglasses as if hiding a drug problem, but managed to watch movies with Cory and Jenna.
